Lanvin

Versace

Alexander McQueen

Blumarine

Blumarine
Before the frenzy over the the AW10 collections begins, I think a recap of the best Spring 2010 ready-to-wear shows is fitting. First up, McQueen, McQueen, McQueen. From the the hair, to the reptile inspired clothes, to the incredible shoes, McQueen is the King of innovation- the entire collection was definitely awe-inspiring. And then my beloved Balmain- the structured shoulders, metallics, weathered clothes, and hints of a bygone era- Christophe Decarnin, I love you. Versace was bright, bold, short, sexy, young, elegant- classic Donatella. Alber Elbaz maintained the Lanvin aesthetic in his collection- jumpsuits, ruffles, sequins, and what he describes as "collapsing fabric" (a riveting collection all-round). The D&G collection was all about the American West with boots, weathered denim, suits, lingerie and sheer clothing the order of the day. Blumarine was all about bright tie-dye, hippie dresses, Rasta prints... Anna Molinari take a bow.
