SAA + Nedbank launch the Voyager credit card

So the Big G has really been sprinkling my lane with luck dust. Last Friday I had the joy of attending a Nedbank and SAA Voyager sit down dinner in celebration of the launch of the SAA Voyager credit card at The Venue in Melrose Arch, Johannesburg. MC Bonang Matheba took us around the world in a couple hours informing us of the very many benefits of the credit card.

Now this was not just an evening filled with information. No. (With a dress code titled 'fashionably loud', how could it be?). This was an evening filled with a) a fashion show that showcased the black-and-green story that was Gert-Johan Coetzee's collection at the recent SA Fashion Week, and Sylvester Falata's latest collection; b) gourmet food that was just delectable; c) music performances and appearances by recent South African Idols winner Khaya Mthethwa, and a dance set by Step Up dance reality show winners and all-around pioneers of effervescence, V.I.N.T.A.G.E Crew; and lest I forget, d) copious amounts of Moët darling.

Some of the pretty faces in the crowd included fashion journalist Noni Gasa, presenter Pearl Thusi, blogger Thithi Nteta, face of LEGiT Refilwe Modiselle, Lorna Maseko, Anele Mdoda, Tumisho Masha, Thulane Hadebe ++. Oh and, you can hate me later, but the goodie bag consisted of, you know, that little old champagne Veuve Cliquot encased in small pink Smeg-esque plastic fridge...

Religion Clothing After Dark Party

I attended the launch of Religion Clothing at Stuttafords on Wednesday with some other fashion industry people, fashionistas and lovers of the Religion Clothing, and I must just say what a wonderful event it was.

Besides the amazing range of Religion Clothing that we had a chance to browse through, there were performances by Zebra & Giraffe and The Frown to keep us entertained for the evening. And, of course, there was MC Gareth Cliff's prodding for us to be quiet during the presentation, and a healthy supply of Absolut Vodka to help us (*cough*) parched folk happy.

I've always loved Religion Cothing and the men's and women's ranges that Stuttafords is supplying have all the popular Religion pieces - statement tees, clothes with super-cool graphics, distressed garments, rock star dresses, and the coolest clutches ever! No wonder Agyness Deyn and Kate Moss are fans of the brand.

Thanks to the ladies of Styling Concepts for a lovely event and to Stuttafords for bringing us yet another amazing international brand. And yes, thank God for Religion!

Jewellery Unlimited launch

Last week Friday I attended the preview of the Jewellery Unlimited summer collection launch in Lonehill hosted by Danielle Porter, and what a lovely occasion it was.

It was an intimate occasion with some fabulous ladies and their friends, and we got to see the exclusive and stylish jewellery that Jewellery Unlimited has on offer for us women who all love all things sparkly and elegant.

On show was a variety of pieces from top international jewellery designers, including Shlomit Ofir, Hagat Satat, Melody Ehsani, and The Virgo Collection, and the great news is that Jewellery Unlimited is the only supplier of this jewellery in South Africa and they ship to anywhere in country! I especially loved the crystallised armadillo ring (see below) by Melody Ehsani that I must own.

Oh, and we all got an express beauty treatment by Body Grace. Nthabi and I went for an eyebrow tint. It's super awesome to see an exclusive jewellery initiative like this in South Africa. We all want that quality jewellery that will last us years, so I'm so excited to get my hands on the jewellery. (Sidebar- I can attest to the fact those cupcakes tasted just as good as they look!).
