Wanna join me at the PUMA Digs Egoli launch?

So this is what happens when you're trying to finish your thesis - all the fun stops - ie. blogging takes a back seat for little bit. But then an awesome event comes along that I have a chance to share with my fans, so if you're in Joburg this week, keep reading intently.

PUMA South Africa will be opening its very first street located store in the bustling suburb of Braamfontein on the 25th of August, and they've given me the wonderful opportunity to invite 6 of my biggest fans to join me at the exclusive store launch this Friday, the 24th of August.

If you're a regular reader of my blog, you'll know that I got to design my own custom PUMA T7 jacket this year for the PUMA Built for One in Cape Town, so as a fan and witness of the amazing work PUMA does, I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of the launch.

Now this PUMA Store in Braamfontein will be of an even more efficient and enjoyable shopping experience than you're used to. It'll be equipped with a new store design (aptly inspired by Jozi's rich mining industry), and additional store elements like the PUMA Social area and DJ mixing station.

And if that isn't exciting enough, PUMA Soth Africa's Marketing Director, Brett Bellinger had this to say about the store, “We know that the consumers that the Braamfontein area attracts love the PUMA Brand. SouthPoint and Adam Levy of Play Braamfontein have curated a mix of consumers and tenants in the area which happens to suit the PUMA Brand perfectly. In short, we like them and they like us! Our aim with this PUMA Store is to provide more streetwear-oriented product with limited releases and must-haves forming an important part of the offering in the store. We look forward to welcoming all the friends of PUMA through our Braamfontein doors."

Excited yet? Yes?

Ok, so here's how you can win a ticket to the launch on Friday if you live in Joburg. All you have to do is tweet me @ZeeFashionista and name a fashion designer that PUMA has collaborated with. Each person can only enter once, and I'll contact the winners via Twitter on Wednesday, 22 August, at 13:00.

So get tweeting and you and I could be dancing to lovely sounds of  DJ Fixx, Matt Suttner, Tumi Feat. Yesterday’s Pupil and DJ Keyes:

The Puma Creative Factory event!

So this is what Philosophy Honours does to you - I only get time to post pics like a week after the event!

Now despite the fact this PUMA Creative Factory Built for One event took place on the 29th of February at Earthlife in Cape Town, just looking at these pictures brings back all of the excitement from the night. As I mentioned in this post, I had the priviledge of designing my very own PUMA T7 jacket because I had been chosen as a PUMA T7 ambassador (along with 16 other lovely people, including Janine Jellars, Mili Bongela, Chantelle Da Silva, Lindiwe Suttle).

All our jacket's were unveiled at the event, and yes, you guessed it - I absolutely, positively LOVE mine. Of course, I named my jacket 'Zee Fashionista' and it embodies my playful side and the spirit of this blog, really - I just had to have the animal print panel, the lace, and a purple-blue-green-yellow colour scheme on it.  I have to give it to Donatella, the animal print was kinda inspired that that lovely men's bomber jacket from the Versace for H&M collezione...

The other awesome part of the night was that 100 members of the public also got to design their own PUMA T7 jackets for just R699. There were a number of stations set up with colours and embellishments for everyone to choose from. Twenty-five seamstresses were on hand on the night to design the jackets, and I must say, those ladies had a pretty fast assembly line. It was amazing seeing people's reactions when they saw the final product - like, I made that?!

The night was not just about the jackets - there was the small matter of double-whiskey's floating around and some rather delicious gourmet hot-dogs to be had. The super live line-up (featuring Tommy Gun and Haasbroek) kept me quite entertained and it was great seeing some familiar fashion faces there too.

Sheri Lee aka SA Fashion Girl was there too. I love her sequinned top.

Shout out to this lady who laboriously added studs to my jacket.

Thank you again to PUMA and Splash PR teams for an incredible experience.

That's me, btw. Haha. This feels like a N.E.R.D. 'All the girls waiting in the line for the bathroom' moment.

PUMA: Built for Moi

I am a lucky girl. Earlier this month I found out that I have been selected as one of PUMA's T7 ambassadors which means that today, I had the absolute priviledge of designing my very own, custom PUMA T7 track jacket at the PUMA Creative Factory 'Built for One' Workshop in Johannesburg.

What an incredible opportunity it was. You always take for granted just how much work goes into making an actual garment, but it was so exciting to get to choose the fabric colour combinations, panels, zippers, collar, cuffs and waistband that would be going onto my T7 jacket.

The classic PUMA T7 jacket has been around for 40 years and it has cult status amongst rockstars and other celebs. The other T7 ambassadors in South Africa include Janine Jellars, Liesel van der Westhuizen, Jack Parrow, Lindiwe Suttle, Milisuthando Bongela, Chantelle Da Silva and Sais du Plessis - yes, I am in very good company. What's also great is that the PUMA creative Factory 'Built for One workshops have also been taking lace around the world.

So on the 29th of February we will all be unveiling our T7 jackets at the PUMA Creative Factory Built for One Event at Earthlife in Cape Town. Not only is this event open to the public, but 100 members of the public will, on that day, also get the chance to customise a T7 jacket, by drawing inspiration from our jackets, at a cost of R699.

The jacket is literally made right in front of your eyes! As you can imagine, I am super excited about the event. If you're in Cape Twon and would like to come to the event, visit PUMA.com/CreativeFactory. Or you could pre-order your T7 jacket by emailing a booking request to  builtforone@puma.co.za.

Excited is my name! Thank you PUMA.
