House of Holland eyewear

I don't know how I only knew of the beauty that is the latest House of Holland eyewear collection so late. The first time I saw the Eyelashes glasses, for example, was two weeks ago on rapper Iggy Azalea's Instagram, and incidently she modeled some of the glasses for the House of Holland online store. I knew when I saw the pair model Cara Delevingue owned on her Instagram that I had to check the eyewear out. I fell in love with the range so much that hopefully I too will own a pair of these stunners soon. Here are some of my picks below:

How can one not love these?

In the eye of the beholder

I am currently in immense love with American designer Thom Browne's Autumn 2011 Eyewear range. Not only does his sunglasses range have a "vintage-meets-modern-meets-utilitarian" feel, but they are also unisex!

I think that it is so cool that he drew inspiration for the various styles from master architects, politicians, studio artists, industrial designers and professors of the 40s, 50s and 60s. The sunglasses don't come cheap though, selling between US$450 and US$1,000. But then again, quality is expensive right?

J'adore.

We love sunnies

Sunglasses are a staple item in fashion nowadays. Come rain or shine, you'll spot everyone from celebrities to everyday fashionistas wearing them. I especially love these sunglasses modelled by Kim Cloutier for the Shan Spring/Summer 2011 Sunglassses Collection. They're the perfect mix of glamour, elegance and charm. The cat eye frames are incredible, I definitely need those!

Stunners

Everywhere you go, someone has them on. Round, square, big, small, expensive, and not-so-expensive- every pair tells a different story. Sunglasses, or stunners as I like to call them, have become a cult accessory in recent years. Anna Wintour, Kanye West, Nicole Richie, Victoria Beckham and anyone who's anyone, is always sporting a pair. Sunglasses are great in terms of protecting your eyes from the sun, but what about wearing them indoors? I mean, celebs have a good reason to- you know, the flashing lights of the ever feisty paparazzi- but increasingly, more and more 'normal folk' are following suit. So I was thinking, is it simply the usual Hollywood band-wagon effect, or is there actually a tenable reason for this indoor-sunglasses-wearing-mania. So off I went to the mall in my white Wayfarers...then it hit me, people look so much better when you're wearing sunglasses! Seriously, even the palest people look like they've got a tan! Omg! However, despite my new found understanding of the indoor-sunglasses-wearing-mania, I still think people should exercise serious caution when picking out their shades. The number people wearing the WRONG shape for their faces is shocking. Perhaps they should have sunglasses assistants in shops to save people from looking like they just came from some kind of masquerade. Honestly, lo and behold!

Yours fashionably
