Puma - bringing you nothing but good things since forever ever

Introducing The...

Mmhmm. Yeah. These are my very own, custom pair of kicks that I got to design at the PUMA Braamfontein store in Johannesburg, thanks to the Creative Factory suitcase. Yves suggested I called them the Zeezus - you know, Yeezi, Yeezus, Zeezus, nice ring to it, ne... ok, ok, I kid, I kid.

The Creative Factory Suitcase in question.

But on the real, PUMA has really been bringing us nothing but good things and the Creative Factory Suitcase is a case in point. You see what this suitcase allows you to do is create your own PUMA Basket or First Round style sneaker by choosing from a range of different fabrics and materials. From R999 for the PUMA Basket and R1199 for the First Round, and with a 5 to 10 week wait for manufacturing and greatness, you too can design this kind of greatness (*cue The Throne's 'HAM'*).

Another good thing PUMA's been giving us is good times every Friday at the PUMA Social Jozi at 81 de Korte Street in Braamfontein. Now y'all see the line-up for this Friday's edition - AKA, AKA, Speedsta, Matt Suttner, AKA, AKA, AK... Ah, not to be missed.

Will I be there? Yeah! Should you be there? C'mon, take a look at the pics below and tell me you don't want a taste of that greatness. The real question is, should I wear the Zeezus out?

Out and about

With Nthabi

So these are just a couple of snaps from my out-and-aboutness on the streets of Joburg. The first shot is from the super memorable PUMA Social Club where Okmalumkoolkat and Spoek Mathambo both performed on the same night. Now you can imagine my excitement - 2 of my absolute favourite artists on stage, at once - I could die. Needless to say, much jumping ensued. Thank goodness I had on my brand new Superga creepers with the snake detail - comfort! (Side note - those Topshop high waisted jeans are now my fave pair)

The second snaps are from the December edition of the WKND Social. I love the last picture shot by Thithi Nteta. If you don't already know about the WKND Social, it's a monthly 'social' that brings together good people, good food (at the brunch) and good music (at the day party right after the brunch) at different venues in Johannesburg. It was first time there, and I enjoyed it so much that it definitely won't be last.

I fell in love with my matador hat the instant I saw it. The leather skirt is a pretty little thing from local label, Missshape, and the shirt - or what I like to call my 'Prince of Bel Air shirt' - another acquisition from My Sister's Closet Vintage sale. Fashion - gotta love

PUMA got us Social in Jozi

In case you didn't already know, the PUMA Social Club in Jozi is the place to be on Friday.  If you don't believe me, just cruise past 81 De Korte Street in Braamfontein anytime from 9pm to 2am on a Friday night and what you'll see is a super long line, about 6 people wide, snaking around the corner of people itching to get in to the PUMA Social Club. Oh, and as I witnessed myself last Friday, they aren't deterred by the rain. No sir. What's a little 3 hour shower gonna do to spoil your fun of live music and chilled company?

As you'll remember, last week I ran a competition for tickets to the Club on the 22nd where the winners would get free entrance into the Club, drinks, and of course heap loads of fun on the night with table tennis, foosball matches and and and. And child, with two bars at the Club, you can just imagine that the and 'and and had' a lot to do with frozen magarita's (*open cough* drinks specials from 5pm to 9pm *clos* cough*) and incessant jumping to the cool sounds of male band, the Muffinz.

My winners, my buddies, and I got to Club around 7pm so I really got to enjoy the full experience of the Club. If you ask me, PUMA have definitely got a winner with this one because what I see every single week is exponential growth of the Club with even more people tryna get Social with PUMA.

So as you view the next set of pictures, ladies and gentlemen, kindly let the soundtrack of Kendrick Lamar's 'Swimming Pools' play in your head:

That's me. BOY London. Babatunde, I had to!

For some fun on the 30th this Friday, head to Club, and register here to get in for free. I would like to say, that I don't where those girls got that wooden object in that picture...
